Engineers Australia has established mutual recognition agreements with Institutions around the world through which a member of such a body, on application, will be accorded an equivalent level of membership in Engineers Australia and vice versa. In some cases, the agreements cover more than one grade of membership and occupational category.

Checklist and guide for joining via a Mutual Recognition Agreement

  • At least one primary identification document – a passport photo page, a current driver's license or a copy of your birth certificate
  • Degree certificate (testamur)
  • Academic transcript
  • Previous Assessment Letter from EA can be uploaded in lieu of qualifications
  • Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Résumé. 
  • MRA Membership Number from the reciprocal MRA organisation through which you are applying
  • Proof and financial status of a reciprocal MRA Engineering organisation.
  • Chartered or Registered practitioners must provide a record of relevant CPD evidence of a minimum of 150 hours over 3 years.

Fees

Upon submission, payment of an assessment fee is applicable to all grades other than Student, First and Second Year Graduates.
Annual fees appropriate to the Membership grade are paid to finalise the application.
